COURSE DESCRIPTION
The aim of this
course is an invitation to students for critical knowledge on the mechanisms by
which identity and socio-cultural diversity is constructed within Western postindustrial
societies. Our proposal will provide an introductory approach on the production
of difference along with an advocacy for the recognition of diversity as the
basis for coexistence.
PRE-REQUISITES
The students should hold a suitable oral, reading and
writing competence in English language.
MEANS OF EVALUATION
Grades will be based on students’ class participation,
performance on written assignments, oral presentations, and exams.Class
participation as well as homework involves both individual and workgroup
outcomes.

PUNCTUALITY AND
DEADLINE REGULATION
Regarding to class timing,
late arrivals or early departures will be counted negatively. Assignments’
deadlines will be known fairly in advance. Late submission won’t be considered.

SOURCES, READINGS AND FURTHER MATERIAL
A printed folder containing
main resources will be released at CopyPrint for reproduction purposes. Further
materials will be displayed at MiAulario site in a weekly basis.

Professor is assuming that
most of students belong to the IT generation. Consequently, texting, browsing,
checking social networks and any other online activity will be restricted to
educational purposes within our course.
